KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Stater (Gold, 23 mm, 8.18 g, 12 h), Byzantion, circa 120-110. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with gorgoneion; behind, transverse spear; in inner left field, monogram; on throne, BY; in exergue, filleted trident to left. Callataÿ -. HGC 3.2, 1384. Marinescu -. Müller -, cf. 205 (Tetradrachm). Minor marks and with light traces of mounting, otherwise, good very fine.
